Harvard Women's Choral Festival

We spent this weekend singing our hearts out at the Harvard Women's Choral Festival. It was an amazing experience to be able to support our fellow women's choirs, and to hear some great groups perform. Friday night we attended a concert performed by Sweet Honey In The Rock, a great group of six women. Check out their website, or follow them on twitter at their handle @SHoney73.

On Saturday, we prepared for our concert, where we shared the stage with the Smith College Chamber Singers, the Vassar College Women's Chorus, Cantilena, the Rhode Island Children's Chorus, and Capella Clausura. We ended the concert with some great pieces of ours, including Tundra by Ola Gjeilo! Check out this recording of us in Sanders Hall. Other crowd pleasers were "J'entends le moulin," by Donald Patriquin, and "Barso Re," composed from music by A R Rahman and arranged by Ethan Sperry.

The final concert on Saturday night starred the Lorelei Ensemble, and they premiered a work by the MIT professor, Elena Reuhr, along with the hosts of the event, the Radcliffe Choral Society.

Overall, the Wellesley College Choir had fun at this festival, and made some lasting memories. We thank everyone who came out to support us, and we hope you enjoyed the music!
