Choir Bee of the Week: Michaella Montana '17

Our Choir Bee of the Week is Michaella Montana, an active member of the choir. Last year, as a Choral Scholar, Michaella conducted the choir through "You are the New Day." This year, she was chosen because of her musicality and powerfully emotional expressions. Let's get to know her!

1. Hometown: Los Gatos, CA
2. Favorite musical artist: Charlie Parker
3. Favorite song to put you in a happy mood: "La Vie en Rose" sung by Louis Armstrong
4. Who would star in a film made about your life? Mr. Bean
5. What’s the last book you read for fun? When Breath Becomes Air
6. What’s a song that always gets stuck in your head?  Girl from Ipanema
7. What is something you can’t live without? Cheese
8. If you could have fancy brunch with anyone (living or dead) who would it be and why? Leonardo Da Vinci. He saw invisible connections between so many seemingly different fields—it would be fascinating to speak with him!
9. What’s your favorite food? Cheese—lately I have been enjoying Epoisses.
10. Who is your personal hero/heroine: My grandma
11. What movie could you watch over and over? Ratatouille
12. If you could visit any place in the world, where would you go? Italy
13. If you could go back and visit any time period, what time would you travel to and why? The 1950s to hear Charlie Parker play the saxophone.
14. What is your favorite word? Scintillating
15. Something people wouldn’t guess by looking at you is:
I’m mostly an open book, but one thing people are occasionally surprised to hear is how introverted I actually am. I love people, but I really enjoy spending large amounts of time on my own, roaming the streets of Harvard Square or meditating in my room.
16. Why is a raven like a writing desk?
They are both ominous signs of hardship and long hours of personal toil.
