Porto to Lisbon via Coimbra
Yesterday was moving day! After loading up the bus with all of our luggage, we began our journey to Coimbra. Known as a university town, Coimbra was once the capital of Portugal, but now houses a beautiful old library and university buildings throughout the old town. We even sang while in the library! A delicious lunch across the river from the old town gave us a little taste of the local cuisine before we got back on the bus for the last couple hours to Lisbon.
We checked into Hotel Roma which is located in a much more urban setting then our hotel in Porto, making quick dinners very easy. After a couple hours of rest and preparation, the bus picked us up for a concert at the Colégio Sagrado Coração de Maria, which is a Sacred Heart school. The nuns at the school provided a wonderful reception after the lively, well-attended concert in the school's sanctuary. They also taught us the dance to our little portugese children's song, Indo Eu, which we will hopefully get to perform in the future.
