Wellesley and Radcliffe, Oh My!
This weekend, the Wellesley College Choir and Chamber Singers joined forces with Harvard University's all women's choir, the Radcliffe Choral Society. First of all, we would love to thank the Radcliffe Choral Society for an incredible, collaborative weekend filled with empowering music.
On our first night of our concert weekend, Friday, November 6, Wellesley made the excursion out to Harvard's Sanders Theatre where we received a warm welcome from RCS. The space was enormous! At least, it was bigger than what we are used to; however, when all sixty-eight of us got settled in, we certainly filled the stage nicely. Perhaps one of the most magical moments of that night was when RCS and the Choir united to sing Randall Thompson's "Pueri Hebraeorum." For us, this is a piece we had been working on since the beginning of the semester. To hear it come together literally was incredibly fulfilling.
The following day, Saturday, November 7, RCS made the drive out to our Houghton Chapel, where we delivered another incredible performance for the second night in a row. Again, we cannot express how thankful we are to the Radcliffe Choral Society for this unbelievable experience working with another all women's choir. If you would like to see the entire performance at Houghton Chapel online, the video is posted to YouTube and you can also view it below!
