Meet this week's Choirbee of the Week: Maria Wollin!

This week's Choirbee of the Week is Maria Wollin! Maria is a first year Soprano 2.  She's a really talented and hardworking musician, and a very dedicated member of the choir! She has been a big help to Emma, our Rehearsal Manager this semester, and put in extra time and work to help her get set up for rehearsal.  Let's get to know Maria!

1. Hometown:
Galesburg, Illinois (originally Lörrach, Germany)
2. Favorite musical artist:
Keith Green. Amazing musician, incredible man.
3. Favorite song to put you in a happy mood:
“Play a Simple Melody”
4. Who would star in a film made about your life?
My little sister.
5. What’s the last book you read for fun?
Modern Physics, Ancient Faith by Stephen M. Barr. Yes, I'm a nerd.
6. What’s a song that always gets stuck in your head?
Anything we're doing in choir that I haven't yet memorized.
7. What is something you can’t live without?
Music! Especially choir. Singing with other people brings me so much joy.
8. If you could have fancy brunch with anyone (living or dead) who would it be and why?
C.S. Lewis. He's one of my favorite authors. His life story is incredible, and I absolutely love his writings.
9. What’s your favorite food?
Spaghetti noodles with basil pesto and chicken.
10. Who is your personal hero/heroine?
My mom. She is incredible and I could go on about why that's the case a whole lot longer than you want to hear. :D
11. What movie could you watch over and over?
The Sound of Music
12. If you could visit any place in the world, where would you go?
Zhangjiajie National Forest Park in China. (The floating mountains in the movie "Avatar" are based on that area's scenery.)
13. If you could go back and visit any time period, what time would you travel to and why?
Somewhere between 2000 and 1500 BC. I’m curious what life was actually like back then.
14. What is your favorite word?
There are so many to choose from, but a top pick would have to be "illustrious." Just saying it makes you feel majestic.
15. Something people wouldn’t guess by looking at you is:
I like all the critters you're stereotypically supposed to hate--for instance, snakes are awesome and so are spiders. However, I concur with the rest of humanity when it comes to mosquitoes and ticks. Ugh. Kill them all.
