The Choir & the American Choral Directors Association!

We thought our early morning performance days were over once the tour was done; however, we were wrong.

This morning, the Choir Bees got on a bus at 7 in the morning to represent Wellesley College at the 2016 American Choral Directors Association Conference in Boston! Ever since we got back to school, we worked hard and devoted extra hours to perfect the three pieces we would be presenting at the conference: "Sweet Betsy From Pike," "Jubilee," and Brahms' "Gesang aus Fingal." While we were very excited to be given this opportunity, many of us dozed on our way to the Sheraton Hotel in Back Bay.
ACDA's at the Sheraton Hotel
Although ACDA's came up quickly, we were in John Rowehl's qualified hands; he is our interim director while Dr. Graham is on sabbatical. We all felt more than ready for our first 8:30 AM session. Conductors from around the Eastern Division filled the room. To kick off the session (and wake up everyone in the room), we performed our three pieces before pairing and tripling up with other conductors for a reading session of various songs.

Preparing for the 8:30 AM session
After a short break, we were ready for our 11:00 AM session, which we wrapped up without a hitch. We had such a successful morning, and it was not even midday yet. Needless to say, many of us dozed off, satisfied, when we got back on the bus.
Performance ready!
