Busy Choirbees

Even though our big concert of the year happened a few weeks ago the WCC has been very busy.  A couple of weekends ago the choir performed at Caramel Terrace, an assisted living community nearby in Framingham. We had a lovely performance with enthusiastic and attentive audience members. Our favorite part of the afternoon though was spending time with the residents after our concert. During punch and cookie time all of the choir members got the chance to talk to the residents about their lives. It was an amazing experience and I know we learned a lot. A few choir members even received some life lessons and advice! The Wellesley College Choir has developed a special friendship with Caramel Terrace and we cannot wait to return next year.

Last week the choir had the opportunity to perform for prospective students at Spring Open Campus. This is one of our favorite events because we get to publicize choir and excite prospective students about Wellesley. Hopefully we’ll see some of them next year at auditions. We’re always looking for enthusiastic choir members!

Over the weekend the choir had our annual Turnover Banquet, which was a time to spend time with each other as well as announce the new officers for the coming year. We enjoyed tasty desserts and spent the time reminiscing over the past year. Who knew it could go by so quickly! We are all very excited for the coming year and cannot wait for the new officers to take their positions.

Last night the Wellesley College Choir hosted the Mt. San Antonio Chamber Singers for dinner and a concert. Dr. Graham had been telling us about how amazing they were for weeks and they certainly lived up to their reputation. From the moment they started singing we were in awe. We had an amazing time listening to them and also had the opportunity to share some of our own music. If you ever get a chance to hear them please take it. They will be performing at Carnegie Hall this Saturday!

We only have one rehearsal left before choir ends for the year. Be on the lookout for a wrap-up post!
